There are some family portrait sessions that feel especially meaningful, and this beautiful family session at Larz Anderson Park was one of them. With two teenage children and their parents, the goal was to capture this family just as they are right now—connected, happy, and enjoying one another during this wonderful stage of life.

Larz Anderson Park provided the perfect backdrop.

A Beautiful Setting for Family Sessions

Located in Brookline, Massachusetts, Larz Anderson Park offers so many possibilities for family portraits. From its sweeping lawns and mature trees to its charming historic architecture and beautiful views, there is plenty of variety without having to travel far.

For this family, the park’s combination of open spaces and natural surroundings created a relaxed setting where everyone could move around, interact, and simply enjoy being together. That is especially important when photographing teenagers. Rather than asking everyone to stand and smile for every photograph, we incorporated movement, conversation, and genuine interactions to create images that feel natural and authentic. I just love shooting family sessions at Larz Anderson Park!
